A Joke to Think About: Tourists

Two Australian guys wanted to start up a shop. But they really hated when tourists started asking what the store sells. So they began thinking of ways to make their merchandise obvious when people walk into the store. Then one day a couple of tourists walked into the store and... wait for it... asked what the store sold. In his anger, one of the shopkeepers yelled out "ASS HOLE." But then one of the tourists said"Well business must be good because there are only two left!"

Just a Theory

My friend had this theory. Seems pretty logical right?:


So if you simulated the universe as it is right now, it would have a simulation of the device you are using it to simulate inside the simulation, right? And that means, that by extension there is a simulation above you simulating you and one above that and so on and so forth (which means you didn't really come into existence until you created the simulation). And since these simulations are deterministic, they should all be identical to each other. So if you altered the simulation below you, the operator of the simulation above you would do the same. Therefore, by figuring out how to simulate the universe, you can alter it indirectly.

Laser Quest

Have you ever been to Laser Quest? If not then you should. Laser Quest is a laser tag battlefield. I went there yesterday for one of my friends's birthday and I was thoroughly impressed. First off they use only black lights so that any white things in the arena light up. They also have smoke machines all over the place, so you get that Paranormal Activity nervousness. Lastly, the whole place is a maze of 6 foot high walls and mirrors everywhere. They also have towers all over the place where you can stand and snipe people. So once again, if you haven't been to Laser Quest yet then you should really go.

Diwali

Happy Diwali everyone! Diwali is a huge Indian celebration. Today is that day. You can probably read up more about it on Wikipedia or something. Anyways I don't have enough time to tell you the story behind it but basically Diwali represents the Indian New Year and the triumph of good over evil. Well okay, it was nice to put a post up here because I know I don't have too many... But now I have to do my science homework and then I get to blow up some fire works or pataka as they are called in Hindi. By the way that's how Indians celebrate Diwali. WE DO FIREWORKS! Anyway, I hope you all have a great Diwali.
